Summary:    A phenomenon where the experiencer's consciousness feels or is perceived as separated from the physical body, often able to travel to nearby or distant physical locations, or to an apparent nonphysical realm.   Also known as astral travel or astral projection, though it may or may not be intentional.

Evidential Characteristics: 
- Virtually all available OBE evidence is anecdotal from those who claim to have experienced them
- Details of events occurring in both immediate and more distant environments are commonly reported when the individual had no physical access to or ability to sense/perceive them
